Employer monitoring the Google account

Howdy guys, I have a seemingly simple question, to which I have not been able to find the answer on Google.

Namely, I've got a work Google account which is monitored by my employer (the policy is really not strict at all, but anyhow, it is monitored / administered).

I used to have a Windows laptop until recently, and there I was able to set 3 accounts (2 private, one for work) with like 3 separate shortcuts for Google Chrome. Because of that, I always assumed that the employer can only monitor stuff that I do on the Chrome which is connected to my work account.

However, I recently switched to MacOS, and the first thing I noticed is that you cannot have like these shortcuts, it asks you every time to choose which account you want to open.

Then it got me thinking – can my employer actually monitor the activity throughout the whole Chrome browser, or just on the one where I'm logged into my work account?

I assume that the answer is the same for Windows and MacOS, I just don't know what the answer is. To me it would make no sense to have separate accounts, and that the employer can monitor all of the accounts, it kinda loses the point then.

Does anyone know the answer to this question?

PS the laptop itself has no monitoring software, it's my private laptop.
