Is it possible to re-disable OS verification without reinstalling chrome os?

I have an Acer c720 that runs Linux (at least until yesterday) and I normally would press ctrl + L at the “OS verification is off” screen to boot to go into the bios and set the boot drive to get into linux. But unfortunately I gave my computer to my friend not taking into account their inexperience with computers and they turned OS verification back on and now I have the “chrome os is missing or damaged” screen I can’t get past. I would like to know if it’s possible to re disable OS verification so I don’t have to go through the huge hassle of reinstalling chrome OS and then doing whatever in CROSH and then reinstalling linux and all my packages and preferences again
