I need a new portable laptop for writing, watching YouTube/movies, and maybe some light light gaming (basic little indie games/android.)
I’m a park ranger so I spend a lot of time off the internet so something to take with me to write on and watch downloaded movies and shows is basically all I need. It would also be awesome to be able to play little single player indie games (ie max demand would be something like Firewatch if I had to guess) and emulators (Gameboy/Gamecube/PlayStation 2 maybe).
My budget is low because… man who really needs to spend that much for those capabilities? Windows and Mac can be so expensive, and many Chromebooks seem pretty capable for under $50 so why not.
The Lenovo Flex 5 for $300 at Costco that was recently posted here seems like an awesome deal, but if is it really the best deal for my money? Really my budget is right around $300 so hearing it’s praise I figured I’d ask if it’s the right one for my needs.
Would it be worth it to get the Windows version for better gaming? Like I said, decent gaming would be nice but it’s not a deal breaker for me.
